SPAR is repeating the popular tradition of giving Danes a free ride home for Christmas. Since 2016, SPAR has been driving Danes throughout the country to ensure that everyone gets home for Christmas.
There is expected to be great interest again this year. Last year, almost 900 Christmas-loving Danes took advantage of the opportunity for a free lift home for Christmas.
“It is our mission to be the local supermarket for the Danes. That is why we also want to make a difference locally for our customers. Many people live and work in places other than their hometown, and then they have to go home for Christmas. We can see from previous years that our lift home for Christmas is particularly popular among young people and families who want to save a little on transport. We want to help them with that, and at the same time we make them feel welcome on the trip,” says Esben Keller, chain director at SPAR.
SPAR’s Christmas buses travel all over the country and with 140 stops in cities with a SPAR grocery store, there is a route for the vast majority. The route network will be expanded to 43 routes this year, two more than last year. The routes from Copenhagen to Aarhus, Odense and Esbjerg in particular tend to be booked quickly.
Passengers can look forward to a pleasant Christmas journey, as the buses will be decorated and there will be a goodie bag with goodies for everyone on board.
